This unique home had some interesting challenges from the start. Many miles of wire were required to support the distributed music & video, lighting control, security & fire detection, air conditioning control, computer network, telephone system and more. All of the walls are made of concrete block and stucco making it necessary to channel wire routes and finish device locations. Additional concerns that are unique to Bermuda include collecting and storing rain water for home use and having a back-up generator capable of providing power to all or most of the home for extended periods of time. Interesting features of this system include the ability to monitor and move water from three storage tanks (collected from rain and produced from a reverse osmosis machine), controlling a 27-zone commercial AC system, controlling and monitoring a turbine backup generator, controlling the pool filter and lights, providing communication and access for the front gate and viewing and recording security cameras from any of the 30 touch panels in the home and/or pool house.
